Lead Certified Pharmacy Technician

Position Overview

• Department: Pharmacy
• Schedule: Day Shift 7am - 4pm 
• Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham

What You Will Do

Leads assigned staff in performing activities or tasks in pharmacy services. Serves as a subjectmatter expert and provides guidance across pharmacies and to clinical leadership.

• Leads or coordinates shift operations of assigned activities, resources, and/or associates.
• Serves as a technical or functional resource and performs similar duties as associates they lead.
• Assigns, monitors and reviews progress of work. Monitors and reports compliance with policies and/orprocedures. May resolve scheduling issues. 
• Oversees daily activities of the pharmacy technicians under the direction of the pharmacists andmanagement.
• Assists with specialty projects and tasks as assigned by Pharmacy management. Participates in problem solving within the department.
• Provides input into hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Currently certified as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Institute for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
