Job Description
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for safety leadership and all maintenance operations, including equipment safety, maximizing machine productivity and uptime, as well as the condition and upkeep of the facility. This position reports directly to the Mill Manager and is a member of the Emerson ELP Leadership Team.
 The Maintenance Manager is be responsible for:
•Development and management of all maintenance activities, with Safety of associates and contractors being the highest priorityÂ
•Leading preventive & predictive maintenance/process reliabilityÂ
•Managing improvement of key performance indicators, continuous improvement of maintenance functions, and for department budget cost effectivenessÂ
•Development and training of associates including coaching, mentoring and performance managementÂ
•Participates and/or leads initiatives for capital projects and problem solving activities Â
•Assures purchasing functions follow established policies and procedures Â
•Supporting, maintaining, and improving processes associated with the computerized maintenance management system for process reliabilityÂ
•Facilitating team meetings & trainingsÂ
•Identifying safety, environmental, quality & production issuesÂ
•Provide leadership for the ongoing development of the organization, as well as the strategic development of individual talent for succession planningÂ
•Manage budgets including capital planning, contributing to controllable margin and optimizing financial leversÂ
•Maintain long-term big picture view to forecast obstacles and opportunities training and developing skills to enhance team performanceÂ
•Encourage innovation among associates within the departmentÂ
•Leads the team by proactively resolving employee issues, builds team work, and ensures adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent mannerÂ
•Staff, recruit, retain and develop talentÂ

Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year institution.
•Five (5) years experience as a key maintenance leader in a manufacturing facilityÂ
•Evident business leadership skills and with the ability to clearly communicate vision and strategy to various audiencesÂ
•Ability to develop and nurture strong relationshipsÂ
•Ability to motivate, engage and develop strong teamsÂ
•Previous experience with project management, to include capital projectsÂ
•Excellent written and verbal communication skillsÂ
•Knowledge of manufacturing processesÂ
•Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and basic PLC programming/troubleshootingÂ
•Strong decision and problem solving skillsÂ
•Strong analytical, planning, organizational and time management skillsÂ
•Proven ability to drive results to achieve financial goalsÂ
•Collaborative and inclusive leadership styleÂ
•Willingness to work weekends and holidays when operating conditions requireÂ
•Ability to physically perform requirements of working in a 24/7 operating facility, to include ability to work in extreme temperatures and be ambulatory in an industrial environment with catwalks and uneven surfaces

•Experience in plywood / veneer manufacturingÂ
•Experience with LEAN processes
