About the Role:Â
Â
The Residential Coordinator provides essential 24-hour awake coverage and supervision of 20 efficiency style apartment units for single individuals. The Residential Coordinator acts as the first point of contact for client needs and support. This position is responsible for crisis intervention, facilities management, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the front desk and maintaining a positive living environment within the shelter. The residential coordinator will ensure the safety of shelter residents and the property of Shelter House. Â

How you will contribute:Â
Â
- Ensure the safe functioning of the shelter and maintain a safe environment for clients. Monitor visitor check-in and front desk calls and inquiriesÂ
- Perform rounds and monitor the outside and inside of the building grounds Â
- Update the daily log by documenting all interactions with clients and any other significant events in the shelterÂ
- Work closely with case managers to support and reinforce the client’s service plan and maintain ongoing communication regarding client progressÂ
- Complete efficient shift exchange with incoming/ outgoing staff and report on the day’s activities in order to maintain consistency throughout the dayÂ
- Ensure all documentation pertaining to the Shelter House log is completed and in compliance with agency best practiceÂ
- Evaluate and provide for basic needs of shelter clients while on shift. Distribute household items, toiletries and other items to clients as needed. Â
- Perform residential cleaning, including light touch-ups and washing shelter linensÂ
- Organize and restock household supplies, toiletries, linens, towels, and donationsÂ
- Perform unit inspections Â
- Maintain the dignity and confidentiality of all clients during service deliveryÂ
- Maintain current knowledge and ability to administer emergency procedures to include building evacuation, health emergencies, and safety managementÂ
- Accept donations and support volunteer programs and events in the shelterÂ
- Participate in staff meetings and staff training as directed Â
- Ensure compliance with all agency policies and best practices Â
- Proficiently utilize Google Suites applications (email, calendar, drive, docs, etc) as a part of day-to-day work requirementsÂ
- Serve as emergency personnel and must report to work as scheduled regardless of circumstances (inclement weather, highway congestion, etc)Â
- Proficiently utilize Microsoft products as a part of day-to-day work requirements.Â

About You:Â
Required:Â Â
- A high school diploma or GEDÂ
- 2+ years of experience in human services field i.e., mental health, substance abuse, homeless and domestic violenceÂ
- Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and team membersÂ
- Strong verbal and written communication skillsÂ
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends when neededÂ

- A bachelor’s in human services/ related fieldÂ
- 1 year of experience in customer serviceÂ
- Experience working in programs serving homeless familiesÂ
- Experience working in a residential environment Â
- Current CPR/ First aid certification Â

Physical Requirements:Â Â
- Annual TB Test is required Â
- Ability to sit or stand for long periodsÂ
- Ability to lift items weighing 10-20 poundsÂ
