Hybrid Work Pattern - Preferred minimum 3 days in our Leamington Spa studio is expected every week

About the job

At Soul Assembly, we're not just building games; we're crafting immersive worlds that redefine XR entertainment. From our vibrant studios in the heart of Leamington Spa, this multi-award-winning developer has launched some of the most celebrated and downloaded titles in the XR landscape. With a growing team of innovators, we're accelerating into the future of Mixed Reality, the metaverse, and beyond.

We're seeking a strategic and driven Publishing Manager to take ownership of the overall publishing and live operations for Soul Assembly's portfolio. In this role, you will be the bridge between our creative development teams and the global market, ensuring our games reach their full potential and resonate with players worldwide.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work closely with the Head of Studio and the management team to define and execute the publishing roadmap for all Soul Assembly titles. You will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle—from pre-launch marketing strategies to long-term live operations management.

This is a multi-faceted role that requires a balance of creative marketing, meticulous planning, and rigorous data analysis. You will be the primary voice for publishing within the development process, representing market trends and player needs to ensure our games are commercially successful and player-focused.

Key Responsibilities

Your expertise will drive the commercial heartbeat of the studio—here’s a snapshot of your core contributions:

  • Marketing & Communications: Lead all pre-launch and live marketing support, including content creation, social media, public relations, and budget ownership.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive publishing and marketing plans to maximize the success of every title.
  • First-Party Relations: Engage with key partners and first parties to secure product support and manage the full asset approval process.
  • Store & Lifecycle Management: Oversee first-party store presence, including pricing strategies, sales events, and product lifecycle transitions.
  • Live Operations & Analysis: Own performance reporting and live service analysis, providing actionable insights to the development teams.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct market research and sales forecasting in collaboration with Finance and Product Directors to guide studio strategy.
  • Player Advocacy: Manage the customer service function and translate player feedback and bug reports into meaningful data for the dev team.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate blends a deep understanding of the video game market with the analytical skills needed to navigate live operations.

Essential experience includes:

  • 3+ years of experience in the video game industry (or a relatable field), with a specific focus on publishing or live operations.
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field or Equivalent work place experience of a similar role.
  • Strong market knowledge: A deep understanding of current video game market trends and player behaviours.
  • Analytical Prowess: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex data into clear reports.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to work both independently and as a core team member.
  • Technical Proficiency: Professional experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable skills to shine:

  • Experience working with major platforms such as Meta, Apple, Google, or Steam.
  • A genuine interest in XR gaming, future tech, and the broader video game industry.
