Job Summary:
The Pulsed Power EngineerĀ is responsible forĀ driving project delivery overseeing the full lifecycle of Pulsed Power products and solutionsāfrom concept through development, enhancement, testing, and supportāensuring they meet performance, reliability, cost, and compliance standards.Ā
The role involves working with high-voltage equipment, energy storage components (capacitors, pulse-forming networks), switching technologies (spark gaps, solid-state switches), and electromagnetic systems. The engineerĀ is responsible forĀ ensuring performance, reliability, and safety of pulsed power systems under demanding conditions.Ā
You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to define technical needs, troubleshoot design challenges, and ensure quality through structured testing and risk management.Ā

KeyĀ Accountabilities:Ā
Product DevelopmentĀ andĀ TechnicalĀ InnovationĀ
- Work with internal and external key stakeholders to define specifications and scope of requirements forĀ relatedĀ projects and solutionsĀ
- IdentifyĀ opportunities for improvement/enhancement to current product designĀ
- Lead/participateĀ with failure/RCA investigationsĀ
- Design and deliverĀ timely, cost-effective solutions with a focus on functionality and reliability supported by comprehensive testing and validation practicesĀ
- Specify,Ā procure, and evaluate new components or technology to be applied or integrated into existing products and solutionsĀ
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and present field and bench testing dataĀ
Cross-Functional CollaborationĀ - Technical/Customer SupportĀ
- Provide technical support to both internal and external customersĀ (egĀ trainingĀ andĀ troubleshooting)Ā
- Support the sales and life cycle ofĀ BlueSpark® product and solution offeringsĀ in collaborationĀ withĀ allĀ levels and departmentsĀ toĀ capture user needs,Ā identifyĀ challenges, and implement improvementsĀ Ā
Documentation, Compliance & Industry EngagementĀ
- Create, review, revise andĀ maintainĀ all required documentation, specifications, and schematics to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality management systems (QMS)Ā
- Develop andĀ maintainĀ technical knowledge byĀ monitoringĀ relevant and emerging technologies and trends and through participation in key industry events/conferences/committeesĀ

Required Skills &Ā Qualifications:Ā
- Bachelorās orĀ Masterās degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field (PhD preferred)Ā
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in pulsed power, high-voltage, or power electronics systemsĀ
- Experience in high-voltage systems (kV), fast transients, and extremeĀ dI/dt /Ā dV/dt environmentsĀ
- Knowledge of pulsed power components: capacitors, high-voltage converters, spark gaps, solid-state switchesĀ
- Strong background in insulation coordination and dielectric materialsĀ
- ProficiencyĀ in simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB, CST, PLECS, PSIM, COMSOL, or equivalent)Ā
- Experience with fast electrical diagnostics and data acquisition systemsĀ
- Working knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (IEEE, ANSI, CSA, NEC)Ā
- Intermediate+Ā proficiencyĀ with technical and collaboration tools (Microsoft 365, SharePoint)Ā
- Experience in tool design and development for downhole/high-temperature environmentsĀ
- Python programming skillsĀ
