About this role

Job Description Summary

The Quality Inspector is responsible for supporting quality control activities on gas turbine components, including in-process quality inspection, final quality inspection, final report creation, and packing inspection processes. This role ensures that product quality requirements are met throughout the manufacturing and final preparation stages in accordance with approved work instructions, specifications, engineering requirements, and quality standards.
In addition to executing inspection activities accurately and consistently, this role is expected to demonstrate strong Lean behaviors, actively support problem solving, maintain 5S standards, contribute to root cause analysis (RCA), raise quality concerns, initiate NCRs when required, and support overall quality control across the line. The Quality Inspector plays an important role in driving overall Lean implementation by identifying improvement opportunities, supporting standard work, reducing waste, and helping improve process flow and operational performance.

Job Description

  • Perform Quality Inspection in accordance with approved work instructions, quality plans, and process requirements.
  • Review and verify Final Reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with quality requirements.
  • Raise quality concerns in a timely manner and escalate issues that may impact product quality, process compliance, or customer requirements.
  • Initiate and support NCR (Non-Conformance Report) activities as required to document and control nonconforming product or process conditions.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action activities to address recurring or significant quality issues.
  • Support overall quality control by ensuring inspection discipline, process compliance, and adherence to quality standards across the line.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, quality forms, technical documentation, specifications, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate inspection execution.
  • Record and maintain accurate inspection results, quality findings, and supporting documentation as required.
  • Use inspection tools, gauges, measuring devices, and related equipment safely and effectively.
  • Identify nonconforming conditions and support containment, documentation, escalation, and follow-up actions as required.
  • Adhere to Standard Work and Standard Work Combination Sheets to ensure consistency, quality, safety, and efficient line flow.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding and application of Lean principles in daily work activities.
  • Actively participate in problem solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities to address quality or process issues.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, cycle time, flow, and waste reduction.
  • Support improvements in standard work, line organization, visual management, and process discipline to strengthen overall Lean implementation.
  • Contribute to team efforts that improve line performance, operational efficiency, and overall shop productivity.
  • Work within takt time, cycle time, and standard process flow expectations to support production goals.
  • Use shop floor systems and interfaces such as ELM, SmartShop, and MyAndon as required.
  • Comply with company quality policies, safety requirements, applicable procedures, and standard work.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma, technical college degree, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Min 5 years of experience in welding quality inspection.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Min 2 years’ experience working with gas turbine components or other precision aerospace/industrial parts.
  • NDT License is a plus
