Job Details:

General Notes

Initial assignment will be for one year. Subsequent renewal of employment will be based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.

Purpose

Perform research experiments and assist in mouse colony management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform experiments relating to electrophysiological and biochemical assays measuring ion channel function.

  • Collaborate with other lab personnel on projects.

  • Assistance in mouse colony management and training of other lab personnel in lab techniques and mouse colony management as needed.

  • Reading scientific literature, writing parts of manuscripts, attendance of seminars/lab meetings, presenting research at internal and external conferences.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience or related field

  • Experience with mouse handling and behavioral assays

  • Experience with genotyping and PCR

  • At least two years of wet lab experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with patch clamp electrophysiology

Salary

$37,000
