Job Description
Our NielsenIQ Technology teams are working on revamping multiple platform, a unified, global, open data ecosystem powered by Microsoft Azure. Our clients around the world rely on NielsenIQ’s data and insights to innovate and grow.  As a Mobile Engineer, you’ll be part of a team of smart, highly skilled technologists who are passionate about learning and prototyping cutting-edge technologies. Right now our CDAR platform is concentrating on application convergence with latest cross platform mobile technologies with Xamarin and leverage Azure DevOps to support things like CI/CD and integrations. Our team is co-located and agile, with central technology hubs in Chennai and Pune. Â

What you’ll do   Â
Lead the design, development, and modernization of mobile applications supporting data acquisition across retail audits, surveys, and AI-driven collection use cases.Â
Own end-to-end delivery of mobile solutions built on .NET MAUI / Xamarin and native mobile technologies, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and roadmap commitments.Â
Collaborate closely with Product, DA Operations, Architecture, and PMO teams to translate business requirements into robust mobile solutions for global deployment.Â
Provide strong technical leadership and people management, mentoring engineering teams and driving engineering excellence across multiple mobile applications.Â
Lead adoption of advanced data collection capabilities, including:Â
Image and video captureÂ
OCR and document recognitionÂ
Computer vision and AI-driven workflowsÂ
Voice / conversational interfacesÂ
Ensure code quality, security, scalability, and performance by implementing best practices, code reviews, and quality engineering standards.Â
Define and drive mobile engineering governance, including:Â
CI/CD pipelinesÂ
Code quality metricsÂ
Device compatibility and testing strategyÂ
Release and deployment processesÂ
Partner with Security, Privacy, and Compliance teams to ensure safe handling of sensitive and regulated data in mobile applications.Â
Stay abreast of industry trends, evaluate emerging technologies, and recommend improvements to enhance mobile capabilities and user experience.Â

Qualifications
Â
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldÂ
12+ years of experience in software engineering with strong experience in:Â
Xamarin / MAUI-based mobile developmentÂ
Native Android and/or iOS developmentÂ
Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing large-scale mobile application portfoliosÂ
Strong expertise in:Â
Cross-platform mobile architecture (MAUI/Xamarin)Â
Offline-first mobile design and data synchronizationÂ
API integrations and backend connectivityÂ
Experience working on enterprise-grade mobile applications with global scale and high user volumeÂ
Exposure to AI-enabled mobile capabilities, such as:Â
OCR and image recognitionÂ
Voice-based interfacesÂ
Data collection automationÂ
Solid understanding of:Â
Mobile application design patterns and optimization techniquesÂ
Performance tuning and scalability considerationsÂ
Proficiency with:Â
Code repositories (Git, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps)Â
Code quality tools (SonarQube)Â
Unit testing frameworks (NUnit, XUnit)Â
Strong experience in Agile/SCRUM environments; SAFe Agile experience preferredÂ
Experience in building or integrating custom SDKs / reusable mobile componentsÂ
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially in device fragmentation and production issue scenariosÂ
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional teamsÂ
A consistent track record of high performance marked by ownership, perseverance, and a growth mindsetÂ
