About this role

Overview

The Staff Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for identifying and leading the execution of engineering continuous improvement projects. This position requires a high-level technical understanding of Nitinol manufacturing techniques, as well as chemical processing. It will require the practical application of good manufacturing and engineering practices. The ideal candidate possesses strong project management, analytical, and communication skills, as well as an aptitude for hands-on problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a leader and mentor within the team to foster a culture of best Engineering practices.
  • Aid department manager in the advancement of technical competencies.
  • Identify and initiate proposals for new technologies within chemical processing to advance company goals.
  • Provide guidance to other engineers, technicians, and operators in the department as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot problems and define preventative and corrective actions.
  • Establish cost models to evaluate the benefit of proposed continuous improvement projects.
  • Generate system documentation including creation of prints, procedures, work instructions, specifications and other documentation as necessary.
  • Effectively present findings or oral arguments to customers and management when necessary.
  • Maintain, repair and upgrade chemical processing systems as necessary
  • Support internal development projects and goals.
  • Adhere to company procedures / quality standards and ensure compliance to customer specifications and applicable external regulations (ex: FDA).
  • Work with Sales, Operations, Quality, Customer Service, Logistics, and HR as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering would prefer Chemical Engineering
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • ISO 13485 understanding

Physical Demands

  • Standing long periods of time.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Compensation

The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $95,000 - $155,000/year.
