St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and Clear Lake. The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of primary and specialized services—wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, women’s services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Responsible for scheduling outpatient diagnostic exams for the various departments. The scheduling of exams includes obtaining accurate patient demographic, clinical and financial information and the coordination of available resources to meet the needs of the patient.  may include billing responsibilities.

1. Receive incoming telephone calls; from physician offices, patients, or patient walk-ins and schedule the requested outpatient test(s).     2. Collect the appropriate level of demographic, clinical and financial information; including patient’s name, date of birth, ordering physician, ordered test(s), diagnosis, telephone number(s) and payment mode(s).     3. Take into consideration the proper protocols for conducting each ordered test(s).     4. Assess the proper amount of time that is required for the ordered test(s) and place the test(s) on the various department schedules.     5. Inform the physician office or patient of their testing schedule, including time and location of each test, and any special instructions for preparation for the testing schedule.     

Job Requirements

*High School Diploma/GED *

Two (2) years of related PAS work experience
