About this role

Overview

NV5 Geospatial is looking for a skilled professional to join its IT team as a Systems Administrator.Ā  This person will install andĀ maintainĀ computer systems and networks aiming for the highestĀ functionality. They will alsoĀ train users of the systems to makeĀ appropriateĀ and safe usage of the IT infrastructure.Ā

The Systems AdministratorĀ  will require knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications,Ā networksĀ and operating systems. The ideal candidate will have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.Ā The goal is to build andĀ maintainĀ updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technologyĀ onĀ business sustainability.Ā

Responsibilities

  • Provide first level contact and communicate solutions for customer issues, provide feedback and see problems through to completion.Ā 
  • Correctly escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support.
  • Create, change and delete user accounts as requested.Ā 
  • Set up end user devices including workstations, laptops and necessary peripheral devices.Ā 
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.Ā 
  • Install and configure appropriate GIS and business applications on local and remote systems.Ā 
  • Utilize excellent customer service skills to satisfy internal team expectations.
  • Ensure proper recording, documentation and closure of all customer and internal IT issues.Ā 
  • Recommend process modifications or improvements.
  • Document and contribute individual knowledge of service desk procedures, IT systems, products and services in the system(s) of record.Ā 
  • Management and monitoring of end user devices for expected performance and security plan enforcement.
  • Install, configure, monitor and troubleshoot all licensed software and license servers.Ā 
  • Upgrade user systems and devices with new releases, patch and perform regular system maintenance.Ā 

Qualifications

Requirements:Ā 

  • Proven experience in Systems Administrator, ServiceĀ DeskĀ or similar roleĀ 
  • Resourcefulness andĀ problem solvingĀ aptitudeĀ 
  • Strong verbal and written communicationĀ 
  • In depth understanding of computer hardware,Ā networkingĀ and ticket managementĀ 
  • Working knowledge of internet security and data privacy principlesĀ 
  • BA/BS in Information Technology, ComputerĀ ScienceĀ or a related discipline; professional certification such as Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP); or equivalent work experience.Ā 
  • Ability to lift 25Ā lbsĀ 
  • On call/after hoursĀ dutiesĀ

  • Experience with the technologies and products used in the geospatial industryĀ 
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)Ā 
  • Microsoft SCCMĀ 
  • Microsoft O365Ā
