Job Summary:The Welding Automation Lead will oversee the implementation and maintenance of automated welding systems. This role requires a deep understanding of welding processes, robotics, and automation technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding engineering and a passion for driving innovation in manufacturing. General Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated welding systems. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to incorporate weld automation. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to welding automation equipment. Train and mentor team members on the use of automated welding systems. Manages regular maintenance and upgrades of welding automation equipment. Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions. Stay updated with the latest advancements in welding automation technology. Inspect finished products to ensure they adhere to quality standards and specifications. Primarily responsible for fixture development and programming for robot and cobot weld process. Will be a resource to production for fixture development in fabrication away from the robot and cobot weld cells. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to improve processes and resolve technical issues. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine specifications, such as material type, size, and shape. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding automation or a similar role. Proficiency in programming and operating robotic welding systems. Strong knowledge of welding processes and materials. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong communication and leadership skills. Certification in welding or robotics is a plus.
