Responsibilities

We currently have a great opportunity available for a Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst will report directly to the Senior Manager of Finance. This position will support the finance function for Sysmex Canada and other business units as required. This role requires a deep understanding of financial statements to deliver accurate reporting and concise variance explanations for each reporting period. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1. Prepare the annual budgets and monthly forecasts of the financial statements for Sysmex Canada and other business units as required2. Act as the primary financial business partner for the Sysmex Canada team, developing strategic and operating plans, supporting pricing analysis, order funnel reporting and analysis, and creating customer financial models.3. Analyze financial results versus forecast, budget and prior year identifying key variances and providing timely analysis with commentary to FP&A team 4. Maintains, and seeks to improve, current forecasting models and can create new models as required5. Works with the Canada leadership team to assess the financial business case for special projects, initiatives and customer agreements in the Canadian market.6. Owns the financial planning and forecasting process for Canada including full P&L, balance sheet and cash flow7. Assist Finance and other departments to assess financial business case for ROI initiatives, business development activities, process and efficiency improvement and other key projects as identified by the Senior Finance Manager8. Build and maintain strong business partnerships through effective networking9. Assist the Senior Finance Manager with special projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field required. 2 - 4 years of experience in Financial Analysis, Accounting or Business related field.

  • French language proficiency an asset

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (including sumifs, vlookup, pivot tables, etc)

  • SAP, Oracle Planning, Power BI experience desired

  • Working knowledge of MS PowerPoint

  • Comfortable and skilled in data mining and predictive modeling

  • Strong problem seeking skills and resolution-seeking persistence

  • Financial Analysis and Decision Support

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong attention to details and accuracy, highly organized, and ability to multi-task

  • Ability to work well on large and small cross-functional teams

The salary range for this role is $59,290 to 93,170. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The total compensation package for this position also includes a choice of health care plan (medical, vision, and dental insurance), an annual incentive bonus, paid time off, parental leave, bereavement leave and a 401(K) for all eligible employees.
