About this role

Overview

Perform manual machine operation set-ups and processes; read blueprints and inspect finished parts. Also perform Production Saw, Orbit forming, Plate Roller setup and basic CNC operation.

Responsibilities

  • Read measuring tools (dial calipers, micrometers)
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints
  • Read and interpret work orders and work instructions
  • Operate manual mills, drill presses, production saws, CNC milling machines, orbital riveter, and plate roller.
  • Perform manufacturing duties to meet daily production standards of quality and quantity
  • Complete required part inspection and properly record part count and verification of quality
  • Communicate machine down-time, shortages, scrap, delays when applicable

Qualifications

Education and Experience:Β 

  • High school or general education degree (GED) required. Β 
  • One year manual machining or basic CNC operation experience or equivalent education/experience required.

Skills and Abilities:Β 

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Β 
  • Complete standardized written documentation and correspondence.Β 
  • Professionally communicate in one-on-one and small group situations.Β 
  • Ability to perform basic electronic tasks using computer software and Microsoft Office.

Β Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Environment is a modern production facility with heat and air conditioning
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally required to stand; use hands and fingers to manipulate raw materials, finished parts and cutting toolsΒ Β 
  • Ability to twist at the waist 180 degrees (side to side) repetitively
  • Ability to squat/bend and lift up to 15 pounds to place parts on machine at chest level repetitively
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
  • Ability to squat and lift up to 75 pound fixtures to place on machine at chest level occasionally, with assistance
  • Ability to reach over head with one arm to adjust setup dial regularly
  • Required to climb a ladder to retrieve or store parts occasionally
