Job Description
Thenamaris invites recent graduates and junior naval architects & marine engineers to join our Technical Department in Athens.
We are looking to strengthen our Technical Department Tankers Fleet teams’ pipeline with talented early-career engineers interested in building a career in shipping through hands-on exposure to a broad range of technical functions, including support of Superintendent Engineers, dry-docking projects, new building activities, and other Technical Department projects and initiatives.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced Superintendent Engineers and Fleet Managers within the Tanker Fleet Groups, but will also be exposed to the Maintenance team and potentially the New Buildings team of Thenamaris. They will be involved in a range of activities, including vessel daily monitoring and follow-up, processing of requisitions, vendor coordination, defect monitoring, dry-docking preparation, and if needed, targeted site office attendance, while liaising with vessels, suppliers, and a range of internal departments.
Qualifications
- Recent graduates or junior engineers with a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from a 5-year polytechnic program
- Prior exposure through internships, trainee placements, academic projects, or early-career roles in other ships management companies is considered a strong asset
- Proficiency in English, both oral and written
- PC literacy, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills combined with the ability to work in a multinational environment
- Fulfilled military obligations (if relevant)
Willingness to travel, even with short notice, to attend dry-docks or new building site offices if/as needed is required.
