Summary
Job Description:
The Laboratory Director is responsible for the technical and administrative operation of the laboratory, pathology, transfusion service, out-patient lab and professional arts laboratory. This key position is responsible for the capital and operational budgets for assigned functional areas. Demonstrates commitment to the quality, philosophy, and values of Baptist Health Floyd by maintaining established policies and procedures, organizational objectives, process improvement, and safety standards. Provides oversight to assigned functional areas to ensure effective and efficient lab operations, including lab planning. Follows up on any reported lab inconsistencies. Provides people leadership and ensures a well-trained and proficient staff. Ensures lab operations meets all regulatory compliance. Develops the annual lab budget and monitors performance/productivity to budget and makes necessary changes to meet budget.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science required.
Master of Science or a Doctoral level degree in a clinical laboratory science or MBA is preferred
Experience
A minimum of five years of laboratory leadership experience required.
