What You Will Do

In this role, you will lead the design, costing, and proposal development of fire protection solutions for mission‑critical data center environments. You will ensure all solutions comply with Uptime Institute Tier Standards and applicable NFPA, FM Global, IS, and NBC codes.

You will be supporting sales team in Design and Estimation of Fire Protection, Gas Suppression, and associated control systems.

Key responsibilities include project take‑offs, scope definition, technical analysis, code compliance checks, cost sheet preparation, vendor coordination, technical documentation, and value‑engineering initiatives. Delivering high‑quality, accurate, and timely proposals will be essential to achieving customer satisfaction and business results.

How You Will Do It

  • Independently execute end‑to‑end solutioning and costing for Data Center / Mission‑Critical facility projects.

  • Apply deep expertise in Tier III / Tier IV design standards, integrating fire safety and control system requirements with mission‑critical infrastructure needs.

  • Develop comprehensive techno‑commercial fire protection designs—including water mist systems, gas suppression, pre‑action sprinkler systems, foam suppression, detection, and control systems—in alignment with Uptime Institute Tier Standards.

  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of Uptime Institute Tier Standards, ANSI/TIA‑942, NFPA, FM Global, NBC, UL/FM, and local regulations.

  • Facilitate and participate in technical workshops, design coordination meetings, and compliance reviews.

  • Support sales and business development teams through technical presentations, workshops, and bid defenses.

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to evaluate vendor proposals and validate third‑party technical solutions.

  • Review MEP drawings, tender documents, and specifications to identify fire protection requirements.

  • Conduct thorough input reviews using standardized checklists and raise RFIs where needed.

  • Prepare Fire Fighting layouts, engineering BOMs, and detailed design documentation.

  • Ensure defect‑free, code‑compliant Fire Protection solutions through strong quality control practices.

  • Follow all internal processes and guidelines to ensure timely, accurate proposal delivery.

  • Effectively use company design, bidding, and quotation tools.

What We Are Looking For

  • BE/M.Tech in Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.

  • 12+ years of experience in Fire Protection within mission‑critical environments; CDCP (Certified Data Centre Professional) or equivalent certification is mandatory.

  • Strong communication, documentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Deep expertise in Data Center Fire Protection System design.

  • Ability to independently design systems including:

    • High‑ and Low‑Pressure Water Mist

    • Novec 1230, FM‑200, Inergen, CO₂ Systems

    • Sprinkler, Hydrant, Water Spray, and Special Hazard Systems

    • Hydraulic calculations, pump room design, water demand calculations, and coordination

  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA, TAC, NBC, IS codes, and related standards.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SprinkCAD, PipeNet, and FireCAD.

  • Experience in Suppression Systems and India/APAC market exposure is an added advantage.

  • Ability to understand tender documentation and ensure technical compliance.

  • Highly organized, fast learner, and strong team collaborator.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and promote best practices across the team.

  • Mentoring and developing competencies within the team.
