About this role

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Solution Architecture Director to join us in Malaysia, with future growth responsibilities across multiple countries.

In this role, you will be an experienced pre-sales leader who loves technology and partnering closely with associates in Malaysia, world-wide technology sales and go-to-market teams, Segment and Ecosystem Sales team, world-wide product teams, and Marketing, Finance, and Legal teams. You will lead a team of technical sales professionals to engage with corporate and public sector customers to discuss and represent key aspects of the Red Hat go-to-market strategies.

As a Solution Architecture Director, you will conduct business reviews, hire, train, and develop this highly specialized team of persuasive technologists to ensure healthy growth for Red Hat, your team, and customers and ensure success in working on global standards. You oversee and manage Malaysia forecast and sales process to gain a deep understanding of our customers and the business.

What you will do:

  • Hire and mentor Account Solution Architects in Malaysia to lead with mastery in open innovation and culture

  • Develop teams with a global mindset by focusing on onboarding, enablement, and capability-building programs

  • Provide governance with respect to organization planning and design of roles, titles, responsibilities, incentives, and performance and development management

  • Manage potential drift in an open and transparent way

  • Own and manage the planning and budget specialist sales and help to establish and implement guidelines for allocation of technology sales talent

  • Own and manage the call for specialist forecast and pipeline to the business

  • Represent the region at a global level by articulating region-specific needs to stakeholders and manage change in a collaborative manner

  • Own and guide enablement for presales and specialist sales to identify skill gaps or region-specific focused offerings and solutions and construct enablement programs and refresher training sessions regularly

  • Develop executive relationships and alignment, coordinated closely with Red Hat’s product leadership to ensure that design pursuits fit with the overall Red Hat market and business strategy and commercial models

  • Communicate progress, status, and lessons learned from sales pursuits to all internal stakeholders and customers, as applicable; demonstrate the ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for product and technology roadmap

What you will bring:

  • 10+ years of combined experience with technical sales and presales in the IT industry, performing these roles in the past and today

  • Experience with customer focused role and managing presales teams across multiple countries and cultures

  • Excellent leadership, technical, and executive engagement skills

  • Record of building and managing successful teams with a key focus on people development and customer focus

  • Proven experience in technical selling, competitive outlook or forecasting, and understanding of end to end sales processes

  • Solid technical foundation in enterprise IT, with deep expertise across Cloud Infrastructure, Enterprise Linux, Containerization & Kubernetes (e.g., OpenShift), DevSecOps, and Automated IT operations

  • Solid technical background in an IT professional role with the ability to relate and earn credibility with a technical team as a thought leader

  • Passionate communication skills with equal abilities in listening and storytelling

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with diverse senior executives and program owners

  • Highly collaborative work style with proven ability to gather consensus and get support for decisive and timely actions
