About this role

Job Description:

Ryan Companies US, Inc. has an immediate career opportunity for a Project Engineer. This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies.

The objective is to educate the employees in field and office operations while working from a construction project site for a minimum of six months and preferably for the duration of an entire construction project.


Some things you can expect to do:

  • Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.

  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.

  • Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.

  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.

  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.

  • Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.

  • Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.

  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.

  • Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.

  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering/Management or related field.
  • Possess strong knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations, understand architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems.
  • You also must be able to travel to project sites, assume responsibility, interface & communicate effectively.

    You will really stand out if you have:

    • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.

    • Experience in Construction Management Software (i.e. Procore).

    • Design-build commercial construction experience.

    • 1+ year of experience in commercial construction.

    Compensation:

    The salary range is $75,000 - 85,000.00 annually. The base salary may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
