Quality Systems Engineer ($90,000 - $115,000)

The Quality Systems Engineer (QSE) uses professional quality and engineering concepts and applies Company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. The QSE acts as the facilitator and lead investigator for complaints from assigned customers. The QSE works with all necessary Company functions both internal and external to manage the Material QPL and Certification process. The QSE manages the calibration and document control functions. The QSE assists the Management Representative in liaison with external bodies on quality system related affairs and manages the Internal Audit activity. The QSE will lead or participate in other projects as assigned by management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•      Coordinate and facilitate 8D teams in effective completion of assigned customer complaints and investigations within the scope of Precix operations.

•       Ensure that Precix is able to diligently respond to assigned customer complaints in a timely manner.

•       Provide input into efforts to continuously improve the processes within Precix.

•       Assist Quality Manager to ensure that documents associated with the Customer Compliant System are current and accurate.

•       Auditing, Reporting and Compliance:

o        Assists the Management Representative in liaison with external bodies on quality system related affairs.

o         Manages and sets objectives for the Internal Audit team which perform audits of the Quality

System according to ISO 9001, ISO 17025, AC 7115, AS9100 and IATF 16949 requirements and the environmental system to ISO 1400 I requirements.

o        Ensures compliance regarding customer requirements, specifications, and quality standards.

o        Schedules and coordinates Layered Audits. Performs Layered Audits, as necessary. Manages corrective actions initiated from Layered Audits.

•       Perform other duties as required and requested.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•       Associate degree required, or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school; or 2 to 3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•       Bachelor's degree preferred from a 4-year college or university; or 3 to 5 years related experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•       Must be familiar with ISO 9001, AS 9100, ISO 17025, AC 7115, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.

•       Must have experience or education and training as an internal auditor. AS 9100, IATF 16949 Lead Auditor Certification Preferred.

•       Must have experience with FMEA, GD&T, PPAP and APQP.

•      Consistently demonstrates the ability to perform in an independent manner with little supervision.

•      Consistently demonstrates the ability to recognize and deal with priorities.

•      Ability to communicate information to technical and non-technical personnel including presentations to small and large groups.

•      Recognizes and performs other necessary tasks which need to be performed although not directly assigned.

•      Must have good judgement to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequence of tasks, operating within the limitations of recognized standard methods and procedures.

•      Computer literacy required: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Gainseeker. SAP, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe, Minitab are a plus.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

•          The work environment consists of manufacturing and office environment. Manufacturing areas may have exposure to noise, varying temperatures, smells, and chemicals. Some travel may also be required.

•       Exposure to moderate noise levels up to 2/3 of the time.

•       Exposure to loud noise levels up to I /3 of the time.
